THE DICHOTOMY OF: “NO Results” vs KEEP PUSHING

I was going through the Instagram page for Coffee Table Evangelism. Which is the media house under which all our productions are filmed and produced. The mandate is to advance the Kingdom of God by spreading the Gospel in unorthodox ways through multiple multi-media platforms. And as I was  scrolling through it and reflecting on what I am feeling. Which is withdrawal symptoms from the comfort zone that I was living in(A whole other blog post for another day honey!).As I scrolled through the Instagram page I found that God dropped along my path a trail of gems for me to find on this particular day where I am really feeling The Dichotomy of seeing no results and resisting the temptation of queuing a good Nigerian movie with Eso Dike and Sonia Uche grabbing a snack, and never coming on back ok!. And I thought about the exact person who is on the exact season I am in and I wondered. How come no is interested in reading these posts. And as I sat there and thought well I know that generally people don't like to read. Especially younger people and my people (God bless you).  And I said 'but it seems like no one is reading this at all'. It's not about me and getting validation. I was ruminating on this from a mission based perspective. I just thought of the many people who may really need these journal-ling exercises. I thought of the person who could really use stumbling across this word. And I felt concerned that there is a word for them in plain sight but they're missing it. Then God said first of all you need to get serious about promoting it. But moreso I heard God say 

In a season where no one is reading or responding to the thing that God is calling you to build just remember what matters( even when they eventually do). What matters is, is the ark God that called me to construct taking the image of the vision and instructions God gave me ? If it does and your answer is 100% positively yes, then that is all that matters . KEEP MOVING IN THE DIRECTION OF OBEDIENCE 

Consider these scriptures as you are constructing the vision, the ark.

Genesis 6:14-17 (NIV)

So make yourself an ark of cypress[c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.[d] 16 Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit[e] high all around.[f] Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks. 17 I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to 

Genesis 6:22 (NIV)

22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him

1 Samuel 15:22 (NLT)

But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams

While resisting the temptation that comes with building the ark. I want you to keep in mind the main purpose of the ark. The purpose of the ark was to save people (Noah and his family from the great destruction that was about to befall the earth). And right here, as I am writing God just answered me on a question and struggle I have been having. A Dichotomy so to speak. I have been wrestling with this Dichotomy of being called. I kept asking myself and asking God.God but why do you need me to be called,there are already so many people gifted, eloquent and just more qualified how does my voice and existence add any value. It's like this have you ever asked yourself why you should start a podcast or a clothing and apparel company when so many people are doing THE EXACT SAME THING ALREADY. Like how many anxiety and peace sweaters do we really need Lord?? Like Lord the space is already saturated and occupied.

Remember when you were in high school and everyone used to move in packs or cliques. Do you remember how that clique with the popular girls and boys used to have that effect and territory over the entire school. (Lowkey, I have never liked being seen even since high school and never envied that squad. The pressure was way too much for me,I loved being a mere face among the people). Well, that's how it is in the Kingdom of God. We move in these divine “cliques”. Remember how one clique is usually influenced by the one prettiest girl and her mannerisms. Her pink obsession and lipgloss. Her sleek bun, strawberry smelling perfume and fresh shaven skin. Then the other 4 prettiest girls in the class are a extension of her. And soon all the girls in the school are in a sleek pulled back bun, strawberry lipgloss and in a pink obsession because of the one clique. Which essentially is just an expression of an adolescent phase of one girl.

One girl,the power of one girl! Now don't get me started if she dates the one boy, it's over for the whole school because they will run popular culture and influence in that entire school (a sermon on Kingdom couples,coming soon lol). Now…I know chances are you were not in that clique and you were not that girl. BUT,what if I tell you that you are in the Kingdom of God.

Think of it like this, if the woman with the issue of blood looked at the crowd and said “well it's already too crowded here and everybody is looking for healing”. Would she have received her testimony?? NO!! More importantly, would we have been able to pull from this testimony in hard times??? NO! The same applies to you…just like Noah there is a “family” that God has called for you. A clique just like high school, a territory, a region, a nation that you hold influence over. Yes, you, quirky, random, weirdo, socially awkward and movie star-obsessed- crushing-you. That family could be your literal family but that family could also be a group of people assigned to your name. People who really identify with you, people who really relate to you,people who see elements of themselves in you.

You would be surprised how many people actually look up to you, your boldness, your uniqueness. The way you dress, the way you pray even the way you smile. There is a way in which God created human kind in which we just draw strength, hope and courage to face life from interacting with each other. It's a mystery to me I am still trying to wrap my mind around it. But look at this when you read your Bible you realize that God grouped the children of Israel into 12 tribes according to the sons of Jacob, Abraham's lineage from which we come (praise the Lord!). Each tribe was blessed differently and each tribe according to their blessing had different responsibilities in Israel,in the Kingdom of God. And with each tribes’blessing came burden another Dichotomy of life. And although we are not officially grouped into those tribes as in census wise and geographically. WE BELONG TO DIFFERENT TRIBES SPIRITUALLY.

I don't know if you have ever experienced or been exposed to the culture of tribes in West Africa. But one of the things I love the most about Nigeria besides the weather and the movies child! (yes, the weather); is the differences in mannerisms with the tribes. It's such a stark difference,the people are of one nation but the diversity in tribes is truly evidence of the many and marvelous handiworks of the Almighty God (metaphorically in this subject matter, representing the Kingdom of God). We may be of the same Kingdom and share one father God but there are stark differences in us.(Which this is a whole word about how symbolically Jacob represents God the Father giving birth to us as many different nations). So while I may not have the whole theology and what not. My friend I will tell you this, you are called to minister to a culture, a family, a tribe. You ministry, voice, gift is called to save a family of believers. AND NEWSFLASH BOO BOO:WHEN YOU NARROW THINGS DOWN. JUST LIKE NOAH THERE AREN'T MANY RIGHTEOUS MEN IN THAT TRIBE YOU ARE IN, IN THAT COMMUNITY YOU COME FROM, FOR GOD TO SPEAK TO AND GIVE VISION TO THAT WILL OBEY EXCEPT YOU. AND SAVE THAT FAMILY. OK!!
